If I am set up for field by field analysis when entering trades can I allocate trade against a specific enterprise (crop type) rather than allocating trades field by field?

If I am doing field by field analysis, and I have some expense I want to allocate to certain enterprises can I do that as an enterprise or do I need to enter the expense allocation in each fields profile?

In response to your first question. The initial answer is yes. To allocate trades to a specific crop versus field our system defaults to rolling up all bushels from each field. To manage this option, go to the “settings” section, then “profiles” and make sure you have chosen to “MERGE LIKE PROFILES”.

In response to the second question. If field by field profiles are currently set up, and this expense needs to be allocated to one specific crop, the expense will have to be divided by that crop enterprise’s acres and input into each field profile via the “custom expense” category. If you are ok with allocating the expense to all crop enterprises, this can be entered one time in the “gross expense” section.

If you know of this expense prior to the beginning of your planning process, this expense can be added as a custom expense in the first field and then the “copy function” can be used to create each subsequent field profile.
